AP Biology Labs
Simply using cut up plastic yellow- and blue-striped straws, students are introduced to how natural selection affects allele frequencies even though it directly acts on phenotype. This lab was developed to introduce students to allele frequencies and genotype frequencies before you hit them with the math of the Hardy-Weinberg formulas.

This lab is an adaptation of a lab developed by Glen Cochrane of Half Hollow Hills High School in Huntington, NY.
